Approving new members
Let new members into your community when your community approves people before they join.
If your community approves people before they can use the site, new sign-ups wait as Pending until you let them in.
Seeing who is waiting
When people are waiting, you see Pending Approvals with a number under Needs Attention at the top of the admin menu. The dashboard also shows a Members awaiting approval card.
Approving one person
- Press Pending Approvals, or open Users and choose the Pending tab.
- Find the person and press the three-dot button on their row.
- Press Approve.
- Confirm in the window that opens.
The member is sent an approval email and can now use the site. If your community gives new members a starting balance, they receive it now.
Approving several people
Tick the box next to each person, then press Approve in the bar that appears.
If you do not want to approve someone
Leave them pending while you find out more. If you decide not to let them in, you can Ban them or Delete their account from the same menu.
