Setting up your community
Updating a legal document
Write a new version, publish it and tell members that your terms have changed.
Legal documents keep every version. When you change your terms, you write a new version and publish it.
- Open Enterprise in the admin menu and press Legal Documents.
- Find the document and press Manage content. This opens Legal Document Versions.
- Press Create New Version.
- Fill in the Version Number, Effective Date and a Summary of Changes, then write the new text.
- Save it. Keep Save as Draft on while you are still working.
- When it is ready, press Publish Version and confirm.
What publishing does
Publishing makes the new version the one members see. The previous version is retired. If the document requires acceptance, members are asked to accept the updated terms.
Telling members
After publishing, press Notify. Choose Notify All Active to tell everyone, or Notify Non Accepted to tell only people who have not accepted yet.
Checking who has accepted
Open Compliance Dashboard under Enterprise in the admin menu. It shows how many members have accepted the current versions.
A published version cannot be edited. To make a correction, create another new version.
This is done on the main website. The accessible site does not have this page.
