Choosing your community's languages
Set the default language and choose which languages members can switch to.
You choose your community's languages at the bottom of the Module Configuration page.
- Open Module Configuration.
- Scroll to the bottom, to Platform Infrastructure.
- Find Language & Localisation.
- Choose a Default language. This is the language people see first.
- Under Available languages, tick the languages members can switch to. One language is marked "(always enabled)".
- Press Save changes.
If you cannot see Platform Infrastructure, clear the search box at the top of the page. It is hidden while you search.
What members see
Each member can choose their own language from the ones you allow. The site's buttons and menus change to that language.
Things your community writes, such as pages, blog posts and Help Centre questions, are shown as they were written. They are not translated automatically. Write them in the language most of your members use.
Dates and numbers
How dates and numbers are written is a separate setting. Change it under Date and number format on the Admin Settings page.
