Recording insurance certificates
Add, check, verify or reject members' insurance records.
Some activities need insurance. Insurance keeps a record of members' insurance.
If an admin has turned on Insurance tracking enabled, members can add their own insurance details from the Privacy tab in their Settings. These arrive here for you to check. If it is off, members cannot add them, and you add certificates for them here.
Adding a certificate for a member
- Press Add Certificate.
- Use Search Member to find the member.
- Choose the Insurance Type, such as Public Liability or Professional Indemnity.
- Fill in Provider Name, Policy Number, Coverage Amount, Start Date and Expiry Date.
- Press Add Certificate.
Checking a certificate
- Use the tabs to see Pending, Submitted, Verified, Expiring Soon, Expired and Rejected certificates.
- Press the view button to see the details. If a file is attached, press View Certificate File.
- Press the verify button when you have checked it.
- Press the reject button if it is not acceptable, and give a reason.
- Press the delete button to remove a record you added in error.
Why it matters
If a listing's risk tag says Insurance required, the member who posted the listing needs a verified insurance certificate that has not expired. This is the member shown as Provider on the exchange. Without one, nobody can start an exchange on that listing. This check applies even when Insurance tracking enabled is off.
