Making sure vetted-only contact works
Check your setup so members who asked for vetted-only contact do not become impossible to reach.
Members who consider themselves vulnerable adults can be contacted only by coordinators and by members whose vetting your community has recorded. Some members chose "only vetted members" before that question was retired, and are protected the same way. If your setup is incomplete, or nobody has vetting recorded, only coordinators can reach them.
Members cannot see whether your setup is complete. So it is important to check it.
What must be in place
- A jurisdiction is chosen. In the Broker Panel, open Vetting confirmations. The Jurisdiction must show a place, not "Safeguarding jurisdiction not configured". Until one is chosen, every page of the Broker Panel and the admin panel shows a notice saying so.
- The jurisdiction supports vetted contact. If the page says "This jurisdiction does not yet have a supported contact-vetting policy", vetted-only contact cannot work. Deactivate any option that uses Vetted members only.
- The options match the jurisdiction. Each Vetted members only option must require the same vetting type as your jurisdiction. Applying the matching Country Preset does this for you.
- Vetting is recorded. Brokers record vetting for members who may contact vetted-only members. They do this in Vetting confirmations with Confirm safeguarding certification.
Warning signs
If the Vetting confirmations page says "An administrator must select the safeguarding jurisdiction before confirmations can be recorded", step 1 is missing. Fix it straight away.
