Safeguarding

Setting up safeguarding for your community

Choose your safeguarding policy package, then add the matching safeguarding questions for new members.

Safeguarding helps protect members who may be vulnerable. Setting it up takes a few steps. Do them in this order.

Step 1: choose your safeguarding jurisdiction

Only admins can do this.

  1. Open the Broker Panel from the admin menu.
  2. Press Configuration.
  3. In the Compliance & Safeguarding section, under Safeguarding jurisdiction, choose the one that matches where your community operates.
  4. Press Save Changes.

If none fits your community, choose Custom jurisdiction. Vetted-only contact is then not available. See "Making sure vetted-only contact works".

Step 2: add the matching questions

  1. In the admin menu, open Platform Operations and press Onboarding Settings.
  2. In Safeguarding Config, choose the Country Preset for the same place as your jurisdiction.
  3. Press Apply Preset and confirm. This replaces your current safeguarding options.

Step 3: switch the step on

  1. On the same page, under Step Configuration, switch on Enabled for the safeguarding step.
  2. Write a short Safeguarding Intro in your own words if you want.
  3. Press Save Settings.

Step 4: check the options

Press Manage Options to review the questions. See "Choosing the safeguarding questions members see".

Do not apply a country preset that does not match your jurisdiction. Members who consider themselves vulnerable adults could then be reachable only by coordinators.
This is done on the main website. The accessible site does not have this page.
