Admins, brokers and coordinators: what is the difference?
Admins set up the community. Brokers run it day to day in their own Broker Panel.
Your community has two kinds of staff roles. Admins set the community up. Brokers look after members day to day. Some communities call brokers "coordinators".
What admins do
- Change community settings, branding and languages.
- Switch features on and off.
- Publish legal documents such as your terms.
- Give people roles, and ban or delete accounts.
- Everything a broker can do.
What brokers do
Brokers work in the Broker Panel. There they approve new members, review exchanges and messages, check reported content, handle safeguarding and record vetting. They can also correct a member's balance, but not their own.
Brokers cannot open the admin panel. They cannot change roles, community settings or legal documents, and they cannot ban or delete accounts.
Using the Broker Panel yourself
As an admin you can use the Broker Panel too. Press Broker Panel under Overview in the admin menu.
Other admin levels
Some organisations run several communities together. A senior admin for that group may see Super Admin Panel in the menu, which covers the communities beneath theirs.
The platform team looks after the whole installation. A few settings are theirs alone. You will see a Super admin only label next to those.
