Why does it say a coordinator may review messages?
What the safeguarding notice in a conversation means, and why it looks the same for everyone.
Some conversations show this notice: "Messages in this conversation may be reviewed by a coordinator for safeguarding, or visible to someone a participant trusts to support them." On a phone, it appears as Safeguarded conversation.
It means one or both of these may be true:
- A community coordinator may read the messages to help keep members safe.
- One of you has chosen a supporter, such as a family member or carer, who can view their messages.
The notice is worded the same way whatever the reason. This protects the privacy of anyone who has a supporter.
You can close the notice with the cross. It comes back when you open the conversation again.
If you have chosen a supporter yourself, you will also see "Someone you chose as a supporter can view your messages." Press Manage this to change it.
