Running a group as an owner or admin

What group owners and admins can do, from accepting members to deleting the group.

Each group has an Owner, who created it, and can have Admins who help run it. Together they are the group's managers.

What managers can do

  • Accept or turn down join requests. Press View Pending Join Requests, then Accept or Reject.
  • Invite people with Invite.
  • Remove a member. Open Members and choose Remove from Group.
  • Post notices with New Announcement, and pin them to the top with Pin this announcement.
  • Change the group's details, pictures, colours and who can join, under Settings.
  • Set up group Challenges, and create or remove Channels.
  • See the Analytics tab, and download member or activity lists.
  • Use the Automation tab to schedule posts, including repeating posts, and to set a Welcome Message for new members.

What only the owner can do

  • Make a member an admin with Promote to Admin, or undo it with Demote to Member.
  • Remove an admin.
  • Delete the group. The owner must type the group's name to confirm. This cannot be undone.
Community administrators can also do all of these things in any group.
