Good practice for brokers
Welcoming new members
A warm start helps new members make their first exchange.
The first few weeks decide whether a new member stays. A friendly broker makes a big difference.
When you approve someone
- Approve new members promptly. People lose interest if they wait.
- Send a short welcome message. Press Send Message from their row in Members.
- Offer a phone call or a meeting if they would like help getting started.
Helping them take their first step
- Help them add a clear profile and one or two listings: something they can offer and something they would like.
- Suggest a simple first exchange with a friendly, experienced member.
- Tell them how hours work: one hour given earns one hour to spend.
Following up
- Use Onboarding to see where new members get stuck.
- Check the Onboarding incomplete and Never logged in tabs in Members every week.
- Add a note with the category Onboarding when you contact someone, so other brokers know.
Do not rush people. Some members take a while to feel confident. A kind word often matters more than any feature.
This is done on the main website. The accessible site does not have this page.
