Connecting with other communities

Switch on Federation so your community can partner with other communities on the same platform.

Federation lets your community partner with other communities on this platform. Members of partner communities can then find each other, message and exchange, depending on what you agree.

Switching it on

1. Open Module Configuration.
2. Find Federation and press its switch.

A new entry, Partner Timebanks, then appears under Overview in the admin menu. This is where you manage partnerships.

The platform team also controls whether communities on your installation can connect. If the partner directory stays empty, ask them.

Members choose for themselves

Switching federation on does not share anyone automatically. Each member decides. They visit the federation page in the member menu and press Enable Federation. They can also choose how visible their profile is.

Other platforms

Partnerships are only with communities on this platform. Connecting with other platforms is not available.

Before you partner with another community, talk to them. Agree how you will handle problems between members.

This is done on the main website. The accessible site does not have this page.
