Offers and requests

What are offers and requests?

A listing tells the community what help you can give or what help you need.

A listing is a short post that tells the community what you can do or what you need.

There are two kinds:

  • An Offer is help you can give, such as gardening, a lift to the shops or help with a computer.
  • A Request is help you would like to receive.

When someone helps you, you pay them in time credits. A time credit is one hour of someone's time. Every hour is worth the same, whatever the help is.

On the Listings page, each card shows whether it is Offering or Requesting, roughly how long it may take, and who posted it.

You can post both kinds. Many members offer one thing and ask for another.

A card may also show a Mutual match badge. This means that member wants something you offer and offers something you need.

Your community can choose to accept only offers or only requests. If your listing is refused when you save it, ask your coordinator.
