Creating a group exchange
Set up a group exchange in four steps.
The form has four steps: Details, Participants, Review Split and Confirm.
- Open Group Exchanges and press New Exchange.
- On Details, enter a Title. You can add a Description (optional) too. Under What kind of group exchange is this?, choose the kind that fits. Workshop or class is chosen to begin with. Then enter the hours the page asks for. Press Next.
- On Participants, search for members by name. Press Giving time or Receiving time next to each person. You need at least one person on each side. Where the page asks for hours, check each person's hours and change any that are wrong. Press Next.
- On Review Split, read What everyone will earn or pay. Check that it is what you expect. If something is wrong, a message tells you what to change. Press Review.
- On Confirm, check everything and press Create Group Exchange.
The hours you enter depend on the kind. For a workshop, it is the length of the session. For a team, it is the hours each helper spent. The guide "The five kinds of group exchange" explains each kind.
The exchange is saved as a Draft. Nobody is asked to confirm yet. Before you start it, you can still add people with Add Participants, or remove them with the cross next to their name.
When you are ready, press Start Exchange. Everyone then confirms their hours, and you press Complete Exchange. The guide "Starting, confirming and completing a group exchange" has the details.
Type at least two letters to search. You can only find members who are listed in the member directory. Each member can be added once.
People added later with Add Participants have no hours set. If you use Workshop or class, A team helping someone or Type each person's hours, add everyone while you create the exchange.
