TimeBank Ireland
How timebanking works
Timebanking is a simple way for a community to share skills and help each other. You give an hour of your time to someone, and you earn an hour you can spend on help from anyone else in the community.
Everyone's time is equal
One hour always equals one time credit, whatever the task. An hour of gardening is worth the same as an hour of accountancy, tutoring or giving someone a lift. That is what makes timebanking fair and welcoming for everyone.
The three steps
- Give your time. Offer a skill or lend a hand to another member — anything from teaching a language to helping in a garden.
- Earn time credits. For every hour you give, you earn one time credit, recorded in your wallet.
- Spend your credits. Use your credits to receive help from anyone in the community, whenever you need it.
